Urgent medical problems may occur on holidays, weekends or after our clinic is closed for the day. Many health plans offer a nurse telephone service to help you during these times. Specially trained nurses will answer your questions about your health problem. The nurse might suggest care you can do at home, a visit to the clinic the next day, a trip to an urgent care clinic, or a visit to an emergency room.
Blue Cross/Blue Shield: “1st Help”, 1-800-622-9524, answered 24 hours a day
HealthPartners: Care Line, after hours nurse triage line (5 p.m. to 7 a.m.) 612-339-3663 or 1-800-551-0859.
Medica: “Call Link”, 1-800-962-9497, answered 24 hours a day.
U-Care: Nurse Triage, 1-800-942-7858, answered 24 hours a day.
If you do not have one of the above plans or you feel that the nurse cannot answer your question, you may call the clinic to reach one of our physicians at 651-552-7999. Please note: this service is for urgent medical concerns. Our goal as your physicians is to help you, the parent, make good decisions about home care for your child or to help you decide if you really need to bring your child to an Urgent Care center or to an Emergency Room for further evaluation. Please call during regular clinic hours for medication refills, scheduling or rescheduling of appointments or non-urgent health care questions.
Our preferred Urgent Care clinic is : Priority Pediatrics, which has 2 locations: St. Paul: Falcon Heights Town Square, 1536 Larpenteur Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55113, or Woodbury: 7803 Afton Road, Woodbury MN 55125. Hours at Priority Pediatrics are: Monday-Friday: 5 PM to 10 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM.
Priority Pediatrics is staffed only by Pediatricians, which we feel is best for children’s care. We also appreciate that Priority Pediatrics sends us a copy of their evaluation, which other Urgent Care clinics do not do.
